Official Groundbreaking for New Diagnostic Medical Center - 12/07/07

College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences Dean Lance Perryman welcomed about 100 people to the official ground breaking ceremony for the new Diagnostic Medicine Center. The Dean, Diagnostic Laboratory Director Dr. Barbara Powers, Colorado State University President Larry E. Penley and Vice President Tony Frank each addressed the crowd prior to donning hardhats and turning over the ceremonial scoop of soil.

The crowd included Colorado State Senator Steve Johnson; Colorado State Representative Randy Fischer; Brian Chase, Director of CSU Facilities; Tommy Moss, CSU Project Manager; Randy Larson, FWA Hillier Architects; Jaime Rodriquez Project Manager for G.H. Phipps, the general contractor; faculty and staff from the College; G.H. Phipps staff; representatives from the Colorado Divison of Wildlife and many others who have worked hard to make this day possible.


The new Diagnostic Medicine Center is a 3 story, 90,000 square foot building that is scheduled for completion in December of 2009. It will house the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, Clinical Pathology, CSU Extension Veterinarian and APHI Laboratory. It will attach to the north side of the James Voss Teaching Hospital.
